At Northwestel, we believe in giving back to you – the communities we serve. We strive to invest and develop the North, enhancing our community’s quality of life. Annually, we contribute more than half a million dollars to not-for-profit organizations in the Yukon, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, northern British Columbia and northern Alberta. For more than 35 years, we have been committed to creating lasting partnerships within the areas of health and mental wellness, the arts, recycling programs, youth initiatives, northern scholarships and aboriginal community and cultural events. This is why we partner and sponsor organizations and businesses that matter to you, improving our commitment to our customers and employees.
Investing in our communities
The Kamatsiaqtut Nunavut Help Line has been committed to “helping people help themselves” since its first call in 1990. Northwestel made a multi-year commitment in 2014 to provide the Help Line with both cash and in-kind telecommunication services to support their mission to lend a non-judgmental ear to northerners in need.
The Northwest Territories Soccer Association is a 100% volunteer-run organization that supports the development of grassroots soccer in the N.W.T. Since 2013, Northwestel has been a partner with the association, providing sponsorship to help fund the costs associated with their initiative.
The Stanton Territorial Hospital Foundation is focused on raising funds to improve patient care, purchase equipment, and fulfill other requirements related to the vision of “Working Together for a Healthy North.” Northwestel has been partnered with the Foundation since 1999, sponsoring events such as the Northwestel Festival of Giving Gala.
The Yukon Arts Centre is a not-for profit-organization dedicated to showcasing and developing the arts in the Yukon. Our sponsorship of the Yukon Arts Centre is just one example of Northwestel’s long-standing dedication to supporting the arts in the North.
For more than 10 years, the Yukon Hospital Foundation has strived to improve healthcare for the people of the Yukon. Northwestel has partnered with the Foundation to support events such as the Festival of Trees to help raise money for quality healthcare in the Yukon.
