Northwestel brings fast unlimited fibre Internet to first Marsh Lake neighbourhood
Whitehorse, YT – Today, Northwestel launched full fibre Internet and TV service to the Judas Creek Drive area of Marsh Lake as part of its plan to roll out fibre service to most of Marsh Lake in 2023. Residents can now enjoy Internet speeds up to 500 Mbps, unlimited data, and live TV through the Northwestel TV Plus app.
Judas Creek Dr., Relic Rd., Doreman Dr., parts of Doehle Dr. and a section of the Alaska Highway are part of the initial launch for Marsh Lake’s full fibre roll-out. Northwestel will be bringing full fibre Internet service to the rest of Judas Creek, Lewes Bridge area, and Army Beach in the coming months as weather permits.
“We know how much of a difference faster fibre Internet can have on creating more access to healthcare, education, and job opportunities, not to mention streaming, online gaming, and video calls. We’re happy to start bringing the fastest Internet speeds in the North to areas of Marsh Lake.”
-Andrew Anderson, Director of Communications
With full fibre Internet service, people can now access faster download speeds, up to 500 Mbps with unlimited data. Previously people in Marsh Lake could only access 15 Mbps speeds through Northwestel.
Customers in this area can now also sign up for the Northwestel TV Plus app and watch live TV on the big screen or on-the-go with the Android or iOS app, for as little as $25 a month.
