Northwestel launches faster Internet plans with more monthly data to Old Crow residents and businesses.
December 1, 2021, Old Crow YT – Today Northwestel launched new residential and business Internet plans in Old Crow with 3 times faster speeds and up to 3 times more available monthly data than previously available in the community.
The new DSL Satellite 15 Internet features 15 Mbps and 200 GB of monthly data (up from 5 Mbps and 60 GB of monthly data on the previous top plan in the community). The DSL Business Satellite 15 offers the same speeds and 250 GB of monthly data.
“The Internet has become an important way for people in Old Crow to stay connected, share their stories, and drive the local economy, and we’re excited about being able to bring options for faster service and more data to customers in the community,” said Tammy April, Northwestel Vice-President of Consumer Markets.
These new Internet plans are being introduced as part of the Northwestel Every Community Project as an interim step to bringing 50/10 Mbps Internet with an option for unlimited data to Old Crow in the next three years. The project is funded through the CRTC Broadband Fund as well as Northwestel’s own significant investments.
