Our North is full of amazing stories and bold Northern heroines. Real-life women not fighting for fame, but who live off the land, run businesses and play influential roles in their communities.

Capturing true stories for the small screen, NorthernHer is a documentary series profiling every-day women living in the North. It is also created and produced by Northern female filmmakers. 

Embracing the old, inspiring the new 

Up here, resourcefulness and resilience run as wide as our rivers and as deep as our lakes. Creator Caroline Cox and her team venture into the wild from Yellowknife to Tuktoyaktuk and Tsiigetchic, where hunting for food, fishing in lakes, and foraging in the forest are a way of life.

We are proud to share Northern stories that connect our communities with the people who live here. Creating this documentary showcases the unique beauty of the landscape and the courageousness of the women who call the North home.
