Northwestel adds more permanent data usage to most Internet packages

Whitehorse, YT – Starting July 1, most Northwestel residential and business Internet customers will have access to more Internet data every month. The North’s leading telecommunications company has received regulatory approval to permanently boost the amount of data on select Internet plans, with no rate increases. Many non-regulated plans will also see a monthly data increase.

“We know our customers want more usage permanently,” says Northwestel’s President Curtis Shaw. “And we know business customers are asking for more usage as business activity increases. These changes to Northwestel Internet plans will make more permanent usage available in every community while respecting the capacity constraints of local network technologies.”

Northwestel’s temporary COVID-19 measures, in effect since March are set to expire on June 30, 2020.

See the table below for Northwestel Internet plans that will see a permanent usage increase beginning July 1, 2020. New monthly data amounts will be applied automatically, and customers do not need to contact Northwestel to request the increase.
