How to pause internet access in the HomePass app

The Time Out feature of Plume HomePass lets you quickly pause internet access for a person or device. When you pause internet access, the person or device can’t access internet content during the period of time that you set.  

You can use the Plume HomePass app to instantly set a Time Out for one person or device, for some people or devices, or for all people or devices.

Sign in to the HomePass app, if you haven’t already.

In the navigation bar, tap the People icon, and then go to the person or device for which you want to pause internet access.

Tap the pause button, and then choose one of the following options:

  • Set time out: If you choose this option, set the duration that you want.
  • Freeze until midnight: This option blocks internet access until midnight of the current day.
  • Freeze indefinitely: This option blocks internet access until you manually cancel it. 

Internet access is now blocked for the person or device that you selected for the duration that you set. Tap the x button if you want to cancel the Time Out.

Sign in to the HomePass app, if you haven’t already.

On the Home screen, go to the Control section.

Next to Time out, tap the pencil icon, and then use the + and - buttons to set the duration in 10-minute increments.

Choose the people or devices for which you want to pause internet access, and then tap Save.

Tap the pause icon to start the Time Out. 

Internet access is now blocked for all people or devices that you selected for the duration that you set. Tap the +, -, and x buttons to change the duration or cancel the Time Out.

  • You can’t set a Time Out for a device on which the HomePass app is installed.
  • This feature blocks internet access when a device or person is connected to your home Wi-Fi network. It doesn’t block internet access if a device is connected to a network other than your home Wi-Fi network, like a cellular data network.
