Getting started with Plume HomePass

Plume HomePass is a whole-home Wi-Fi system that optimizes your Wi-Fi for better coverage, along with parental and access controls, online protection for your connected devices, and more. With the easy-to-use Plume HomePass mobile app, which is included with the service and available for Apple iOS and Android devices, you can see, manage, and control your network when at home, or on the go.

Here are some key features of Plume HomePass: 

  • Adapt: Adaptive Wi-Fi that continuously learns and adjusts to your usage and needs. The service can prioritize devices based on use and distribute the signal evenly throughout the house, even at times of heavy use. 
  • Control: Manage and control internet access for people and devices. Create people profiles, set parental controls for online safety, manage guest access, create schedules for internet access, set temporary internet time outs, and more. 
  • Guard: Always-on network security to help protect your connected devices from online threats and suspicious content, such as malware, viruses, and phishing attacks. Ad blocking to improve your browsing experience.  

You use the HomePass app on your Apple iOS or Android device to set up and manage your network. You can download the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.  

To login to the app, enter the email address that you used when setting up your Northwestel account and then press "Next". You should receive an email containing a magic link that will sign you in to the app. You can then use the app to monitor and control your network, from home or anywhere you have internet access.

Currently, HomePass is available to new Northwestel Cable Internet service subscribers.  

Here’s what you need to get started: 

  • A Northwestel internet plan that includes Wi-Fi. The modem that you get with your internet plan comes with the HomePass service.  

  • An email address 

  • An iOS or Android device. Your device must be running iOS version 14 and later or OS version 7 and later to install and run the HomePass app.
