How to book a public video conference room

With Northwestel's public video conferencing service, your virtual teams can meet and collaborate from anywhere, at any time, and on any device. The service can connect to any standards-based Telepresence system across the globe and supports HD video between Telepresence systems.

This service is available in Whitehorse and Yellowknife.

To book a public video conference room, send us an email at videoconference@nwtel.ca or call us at 1 888 423-2333. We recommend you book as early as possible, and at least seven days before the date of your conference.

You’ll need to provide us with the following information:

  • Date of conference
  • Start and end time
  • Number of participants
  • Location of participants
  • The Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) Uniform Resource Identifier (URI) or IP address of the Telepresence system to connect to
  • Contact information of a person at the room location being connected to for connectivity testing before your conference
  • Requirements for multimedia or audio conferencing support

Note Video conferencing equipment doesn’t necessarily have to be the same at each room location. The service uses codec conversion to connect to room locations that use different equipment and digital transmission rates.
