Igniting the power of the North

We are a telecommunications company in and of Canada’s North. We are passionate about our home, and passionate about the people and communities within it. It’s our mission to connect the North with services and products that connect Northerners to each other, to business and to the rest of the world.

Erasing the distance between us

We operate in some of Canada’s most remote places. Of our 97 communities, almost half can only be reached by air. Our operating area covers Nunavut, the Northwest Territories, Yukon, Northern BC and High Level, Alberta. It’s an area that covers almost 33% of Canada but is home to only 0.3% of Canada’s people. But to us, distance is all relative. As Northerners, we share a special bond that makes us feel like we are never truly apart. And at Northwestel, we promise to build that bond no matter the obstacles.
