Ways to pay your bill

Here are the different ways you can pay your bill. We offer a pre-authorized payment plan and one-time payment options.

With our pre-authorized payment plan, take the worry away!  

Whether you choose automatic payment by bank withdrawal or credit card, your monthly payment is made on the due date shown on your bill. If the due date is on a weekend, payment is made the Friday before. You'll still receive detailed monthly statements.

Here’s how to sign up.

Bank withdrawal

To sign up, have a cheque or your banking information in front of you and Log in to your Northwestel My Account.

Don’t have a Northwestel My Account?  No problem! Grab a recent Northwestel bill, click on the link above which will bring you to the log in page for My Account.  Click on Register under New Users and follow the instructions.

Once logged in to My Account follow these steps:

  1. Click on “Payments” then select “Auto-Payment”.

  1. Click on the check box beside Automated Payment.
  2. Click Update Payment Method Information.
  3. Read through and agree to Acceptance Agreement.
  4. Select Payment Type – Direct Debit
  5. Enter your bank account information.

Bank Information

  1. Click Continue to Submit.  You will receive a confirmation email.

The first automated payment will be taken for your next bill period. If you have a current amount due, it is recommended to make a one-time payment to bring your account to a zero balance. The first automated payment will take the total amount due on your account, however a late payment fee will be assessed and included in the total for any amount due over 30 days.

Credit card (Visa or Mastercard)

To sign up, do one of the following:

Use My Account - Log in to your Northwestel My Account.

Don’t have a Northwestel My Account?  No problem! Grab a recent Northwestel bill, click on the link above which will bring you to the log in page for My Account.  Click on Register under New Users and follow the instructions.

Once logged in to My Account follow these steps:

  1. Click on “Payments” then select “Auto-Payment”.

  1. Click on the check box beside Automated Payment.
  2. Click Update Payment Method Information.
  3. Read through and agree to Acceptance Agreement.
  4. Select Payment Type – Credit Card
  5. A new secure payment window will open, enter your credit card information in the fields and submit.  You will receive a confirmation email.

The first automated payment will be taken for your next bill period.  If you have a current amount due, it is recommended to make a one-time payment to bring your account to a zero balance.  The first automated payment will take the total amount due on your account, however a late payment fee will be assessed and included in the total for any amount due over 30 days.

Call us at 1 888 423-2333 and listen for the menu option for Payments.  One of our customer care representatives will be happy to help you.

How do I cancel or change my automated payment information?

You can cancel pre-authorized payments at any time by Logging in to My Account

Once logged in to My Account follow these steps:

  1. Click on “Payments” then select “Auto-Payment”.

  1. Click on the check box beside Automated Payment.
  2. Click Update Payment Method Information.
  3. Read through and agree to Acceptance Agreement.
  4. Select Payment Type – Manual Payments
  5. Click Continue to Submit.  You will receive a confirmation email.

For credit card Pre-Authorized Plan changes, another option is to call us at 1 888 423-2333 and listen for the menu option for Payments.  One of our customer care representatives will be happy to help you.

Pay online

Log in to your Northwestel account to make a Visa, Mastercard or American Express payment. Online credit card payments are posted to your account immediately.

Don’t have a Northwestel My Account?  No problem!  Grab a recent Northwestel bill, click on Register under New Users and follow the instructions.  It only takes a few minutes.

Pay over the phone

Call us at 1 888 423-2333 to make a Visa, MasterCard and American Express payment. Credit card payments made over the phone are posted to your account immediately.

Pay at your bank

Pay using telephone banking, online banking, or at an automated teller machine (ATM) at the following financial institutions:

  • Bank of Montreal, FirstBank
  • Toronto Dominion Bank
  • Scotiabank, Telescotia
  • CIBC
  • Royal Bank
  • BC Credit Union

If you pay through online banking, use Northwestel, Inc. as the payee. Online payments through a bank are posted to your account within 48 hours. If your payment is due immediately, call us at 1 888 423-2333 and provide your payment confirmation number to avoid interruption of services.

Pay at a Retail Centre

During business hours, you can pay in person at a Northwestel Retail Store. Get the latest information about our retail store hours and locations at https://www.nwtel.ca/retail.

Payments made at a payment agent may take up to 10 days to be posted to your account.  If your payment is due immediately, call us at 1 888 423-2333 to report your payment and avoid any interruption of services.

Make your cheque payable to Northwestel Inc., include your account number, and mail it to:

Keep in mind that payments sent by mail may take up to 10 days to be posted to your account (depending on how long the mail takes to arrive). If your payment is due immediately, call us at 1 888 423-2333 to avoid interruption of services.
