How to set and use parental controls in Digital TV
You can set parental controls to lock certain types of shows and control what kind of content people in your household can access. You can lock content by movie rating, TV rating, and channel.
A lock icon is displayed in the program details screen of shows that are locked. To watch a locked show, you’ll need to enter a PIN.
You can also choose to hide the titles of adult programs, lock On Demand content, and lock individual shows.
- Press the Menu button on your remote, go to Parental Controls, and then press the OK button.
- Enter your PIN.
Note If this is the first time you're using parental controls, you’re prompted to set a 4-digit PIN. You’ll need this PIN to set and change parental control settings and watch locked content. - On the Locks Setup menu, choose the content you want to lock.
Lock content by rating or channel
- Press the Menu button on your remote, go to Parental Controls, and then press the OK button.
- Enter your PIN.
- On the Locks Setup menu, select Movie Rating Locks, TV Rating Locks, or Channel Locks.
- For each rating or channel you want to lock, highlight the item, and then press the OK button.
When you lock a rating, any higher ratings for more restrictive content are also locked.

Note You can also lock a channel from within the guide. Go to the channel, press the Info button on your remote, go to the lock icon, and then press the OK button.
- Press the Menu button on your remote, go to Parental Controls, and then press the OK button.
- Enter your PIN.
- On the Locks Setup menu, select Hide Titles.
- Choose the title option you want to hide, and then press the OK button.
- Press the Menu button on your remote, go to Parental Controls, and then press the OK button.
- Enter your PIN.
- On the Locks Setup menu, select Service Locks.
- Highlight Video On Demand, and then press the OK button.
- Find the show you want to lock, press the Info button, go to Set or remove a lock, and then press the OK button.
- Enter your PIN.
- Select the show title, and then press the OK button.
Find the show you want to watch, go to the program details screen, and then when you’re prompted, enter your PIN.
Note If you forget your PIN, call us at 1 888 423-2333 to reset it.
