Using Multi-room DVR

This article gives you an overview of Multi-room DVR. Multi-room DVR is a service for Digital TV subscribers that lets you watch your recorded shows on multiple TVs in your home.

With Multi-room DVR:

  • People in your household can watch up to three recordings at the same time on connected TVs in your home.
  • You can start watching a show in one room, stop it, and then continue from where you left off in another room.
  • You can control playback of your recordings on any connected TV.

Keep in mind that you can watch recordings on a connected TV but you can’t set, schedule, or manage recordings from it. Use your primary TV (the TV that's connected to your DVR) to set, schedule, and manage your recordings.

For step-by-step instructions on how to record a show or series, see How to record shows and watch your recordings in Digital TV.

For step-by-step instructions on how to cancel or delete your recordings, see How to manage your recordings in Digital TV.

Watch a recording

  1. Press the Menu button on your remote, and then on the Quick Menu, select DVR.
  2. Go to My Recordings.
You’ll see the list of all your recordings, which you can sort by date, channel, or title.
  3. Select the recording that you want to watch, and then select Play.

Stop watching a recording on your primary TV and resume it on a connected TV

  • While watching a recording on your primary TV, use your remote to stop playing the recording.
  • On a connected TV, select the recording from the list, and then select Resume. Playback picks up from where you left off on your DVR.
