Installation fees for new customers
Technician installation: $186.89
A technician will come to your home to set up your Internet. The installation fee includes the cost for order processing, the site visit, line connection and site work.
Self-installation: $86.61 [Whitehorse and Yellowknife only]
If your home has been connected to services in the last 2 years and is within an area that offers cable Internet, you can set up your Internet connection yourself. The installation fee includes the cost for line connection and order processing.
Installation fees for returning customers
One-time Standard Internet Installation Fees may be waived for returning residential Northwestel Internet customers, where access and technology permit, as per TN1185. Customers must have disconnected their Northwestel residential Internet service on or after January 2017, and subsequently subscribed to an alternate Internet service within Northwestel’s operating area, where access and technology permit. The new Northwestel Internet service must be activated on an account in good standing and by the same account holder who disconnected Northwestel Internet service. One-time Standard Internet Installation Fees to be waived may include Order Processing Charge ($41.30), Line Connection Charge ($45.31), Premises Visit Charge ($50.14) and Premises Work Charge ($50.14), up to a total maximum value of $186.89. Additional service charges may apply for work required beyond that included in a standard Internet installation, such as additional inside wiring or unanticipated construction work.

- Any portion of the Northwestel Better Bundle Program may be modified, discontinued or terminated at any time. Includes five email accounts with Webmail access and help desk support. As part of your monthly subscription to Internet services, Northwestel will provide a wired modem. An additional subscription, at the rate of $4.95 per month will apply for any customer who wishes to have a modem with wireless (Wi-Fi) capabilities
- Northwestel may manage network resources using filtering for spam and malicious or illicit content, anti-virus mechanisms or other measures to protect the integrity of the network (such as the blocking of customer traffic or other traffic in the event of denial-of-service attacks) or Internet traffic management practices consistent with the Commission’s determinations in Telecom Regulatory Policy CRTC 2009-657 and subsequent determinations.
