How to cast content from apps on your mobile device to your TV

Chromecast is a built-in feature of your Northwestel TV Plus box. With this feature, you can cast content from Chromecast-compatible apps on your mobile device to your TV through the box. This means that you can send content from an app on your mobile device to watch on your TV.

You can cast content from any app that has a Cast icon.

Give your box a descriptive name to help you identify it when casting or connecting to it from other devices. Consider a name that reflects its location in your home. For example, Family room TV.

1

On the Home screen in Northwestel TV Plus, select Settings (the gear icon) in the upper-right corner, and then choose Device Preferences.

2

Select About, and then choose Device name.

3

Enter the name you want or choose one from the list.

1

Make sure that your mobile device is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your box.

2

On your mobile device, open the app that contains the content you want to cast.

3

Tap the Cast icon.

4

In the list of devices, select your box.

When you’re connected, the Cast icon starts blinking, and then changes from an outline to solid.

5

In the app, start playing the content to cast it to your TV. While casting, you can use your mobile device as a remote to control playback.

6

To stop casting, press the Home button on your remote.
