I can’t access some channels in the Northwestel TV Plus app when I’m away from home

When you’re away from home, you find that you can watch shows on some channels but not on other channels in the Northwestel TV Plus app. Shows on these channels don’t have a Watch icon. You experience this even though you’re subscribed to the channel and can access it when you’re at home.  

This happens because some content providers have viewing restrictions on certain channels so that they’re only available when you’re at home and connected to your Northwestel home Wi-Fi network.  

To see which channels have restrictions, go to our channel listing page, and then check the Availability column.  

  • If you see In home only, you can only view content on that channel when you’re at home and connected to your Northwestel home Wi-Fi network.  

  • If you see Canada wide, you can view content on that channel when at home and when away from home.  

Note: Remember that content is available only within Canada. You can’t use the app to watch shows when you’re outside Canada.
