How to use Call Trace

If you're receiving harassing, obscene, or threatening calls, you can use Call Trace to trace the number of the last incoming call.

Call Trace should only be used in serious situations when you want to take legal action against the caller.

We don't release Call Trace information to customers. We only release Call Trace information to the police if they request it. To pursue the matter, contact the police.

  1. After you receive the threatening or harassing call, hang up.
  2. Pick up your phone, and then dial *57 to trace the call.
  3. Listen for the message that tells you whether the call was traced successfully, and then hang up.
  4. Take note of the date and time you received the threatening or harassing call.

Note The Call Trace feature must be programmed on your phone line before you can use it. It’s not automatically added when your phone line is installed. To add this feature, send us a chat.
