How to use Voicemail

With Voicemail, you can receive voicemail messages and access them from your phone or from anywhere using another phone.

You’ll know when you have a new voicemail message if you hear an intermittent dial tone when you pick up your phone. If your phone has a message waiting indicator light, the light will flash or blink.

Set up and access your voicemail when you are at home or away from home by following the instructions below:

Dial in to voicemail system

When at home or at another phone in your community, dial your local access number.

If you are accessing your voice mail from another community, dial the remote access number.

Prompts: 

  1. Dial your local voicemail access number (found above)
  2. Press #
  3. Type in your 10-digit phone number
  4. Type in your voicemail pin

Follow the Prompts

When dialing from your own line, enter your voicemail pin when prompted.

If you are dialing from another number, press #.

Then enter the 10-digit phone number of the line with voicemail.

Then enter your voicemail pin.

Here’s some common message playback options you can use when you listen to your messages.

While listening to a message

After listening to a message

  • To skip to the next message, press #.
  • To return to the beginning of a message, press 13.
  • To rewind, press 1.
  • To fast forward, press 3.
  • To go to the end of a message, press 33.
  • To replay a message, press 4.
  • To erase a message, press 7.
  • To save a message, press 9.

Change your greeting

1. Access your voicemail.

2. Press 4 for personal options.

3. Press 3 for greetings.

4. Press 1 to record your greeting.

5. Follow the prompts to save or re-record your greeting.

Change your recorded name

1. Access your voicemail.

2. Press 4 for personal options.

3. Press 3 for greetings.

4. Press 4 to record a new name.

5. Follow the prompts to save or re-record your name.

Change the number of rings

To change the number of times your phone rings before incoming calls go to voicemail, call us at 1 888 423-2333.

Change the level of detail of voicemail prompts

You can change the level of detail of the prompts you get from the system.

  1. Access your voicemail.
  2. Press 2 for administrative options.
  3. Press 3 to for prompt level.
  4. Set the prompt level that you want as follows:
    • Press 1 for standard prompts.
    • Press 2 for extended prompts if you want to hear full descriptions.
    • Press 3 for rapid prompts if you want to hear shorter descriptions.

Note Changing the prompt level isn’t available in Iqaluit.
