Directory assistance (411)
If you need help finding a phone number, call directory assistance.
- To find a local number within your area code served by Northwestel, dial 411.
- To find a number outside the Northwestel operating area in Canada or in the United States, dial 1 <area code> 555-1212. Note that <area code> is the area code of the location you want the number for.
A service charge applies to each call to directory assistance, which will be applied to your next bill.
Exceptions
There's no service charge for local (411) calls to directory assistance if:
You’re calling from a public payphone.
You’re calling from a registered hospital.
You have an impairment.
You’re in an emergency situation.
You need to find an emergency services number.
You’re 65 years or older.
You're requesting a toll-free number that's directed to 1 800 555-1212.
