NHL blackouts

This article provides an overview of NHL blackouts that apply within Northwestel’s operating area.

Blackouts are restrictions set by sports leagues and associations and apply to all TV providers, including Northwestel. NHL blackouts are set by the National Hockey League and can vary from team to team.

Blackouts can be set for cities, communities, or defined regions, such as provinces and territories. This means that because of these broadcast restrictions, certain NHL games won’t be available to you depending on where you live.

Note: New for the 2024/25 season, regular season Monday night games will not be available due to an exclusivity agreement between the NHL and their partners.

Business customers can subscribe to these games by calling Premium Sports at 1 877-871-1122.
