Troubleshooting when you can’t open the Northwestel TV Plus app on Apple TV or Fire TV

If you can’t open the Northwestel TV Plus app on your Apple TV or Amazon Fire TV device, try the following steps.

If you still can’t open the app after trying these steps, call us at 1 888 423-2333.

In a web browser on another device, such as your mobile device, try browsing to https://nwtel.ca/ and a few other websites.

  • If you’re connected to the internet, go to the next step.
  • If you get an error message saying you’re not connected to the internet, or you can’t connect, your internet connection may be down. Learn how to troubleshoot your internet connection. Troubleshooting when you have no internet connection.

  • If you have Apple TV, learn how.
  • If you have Fire TV, go to Settings, select Applications, and then select Manage Installed Applications. Select the Northwestel TV Plus app, and then select Force stop.
  • If you have Apple TV, go to the App Store, select the Northwestel TV Plus app, and then check whether an update is available. If an update is available, choose the option to update the app.
  • If you have Fire TV, select the Northwestel TV Plus app, press the Menu button on your remote, and then select More Info. If an update is available, you'll see an Update option, which you can select to update the app.
