Troubleshooting picture issues on your TV

This article describes what to do if the picture on your TV is breaking up and pixelated (where you see squares instead of a clear picture) or freezes.

These kinds of picture problems indicate a weak or dropped signal and can be caused by issues with the cable connections.

  1. Unplug the power cord from your set-top box.
  2. Make sure the HDMI cable that connects your set-top box to your TV is attached securely at both ends.
  3. Make sure the coaxial cable that connects your set-top box to the cable wall outlet is attached securely at both ends.
  4. Plug the power cord back into your set-top box.
  5. Wait for your set-top box to restart and for the guide to load. This can take a few minutes.
  6. Test to see if the issue is resolved. If you’re still having picture issues, go to the next step.

Restarting your set-top box can often fix many issues, including picture problems.

  1. Restart your set-top box.
  2. Test to see if the issue is resolved.

If you’re still experiencing issues after trying these steps or if this happens on all your connected TVs, there could be an issue with your main cable connection. Contact us at 1 888 423-2333.
