How to restart your set-top box

If you’re having issues with your TV service, you may want to restart your set-top box. A restart is also called a “reboot” or “power cycle” because you turn the device off and on again. You do this by unplugging it and plugging it back into its power source.

Restarting your set-top box can be a quick and easy fix for many issues, including picture quality problems, not seeing channels you subscribed to in the guide, remote control issues, and error messages.

  1. Unplug the power cord from your set-top box.
  2. Wait about 30 seconds.
  3. Plug the power cord back into your set-top box.
  4. Wait for your set-top box to restart and for the guide to load. This can take a few minutes.
