Troubleshooting Call Display issues

If you subscribe to Call Display, and you don’t see caller information for incoming calls, try the following.

  1. Check your phone’s user manual to make sure your phone supports Call Display. If your phone supports Call Display, you may not see caller information if:
    • The caller blocked their caller information.
    • The call is from a long distance number. In some cases, limitations with the switching equipment in the caller’s community or your community might prevent the number from being displayed.
    • The number is unlisted, in which case it may show as Private Number.
    • The call is from a service provider that’s not sharing call information with Northwestel.
    • The call is from a business that uses a Centrex line.
  2. Make sure the power adapter is plugged firmly into your phone and to a working electrical outlet. The date and time should show on the display screen if the power is working.
  3. If you’re using a separate display unit, check the batteries. You may need to replace them.
  4. If your phone is plugged into another device such as an answering machine or fax machine, unplug it from the device and plug it directly into the jack. Then ask someone to call you. If you see caller information when your phone isn’t connected to the second device, it may mean that Call Display doesn’t work with that device.
  5. Check your phone’s user manual for additional troubleshooting tips.
